More than just glasses and contact lenses!
COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM

We take pride in our comprehensive vision and eye health evaluations. Through state-of-the art computerized testing and careful examination by our doctors, we assess our patient's visual system and determine what type of visual correction is best recommended for each individual patient. Visual correction may include glasses or contacts. Further evaluation continues with what we believe to be the most important part of the examination, the eye health evaluation. Glaucoma testing, dilated fundus examination, diagnostic retinal imaging, and other testing is performed to evaluate the health of the eye.

Common systemic conditions detected on a routine eye examination include:

  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Impending stroke and heart attack
  • Neurologic Disease including Multiple Sclerosis and Brain Tumors
  • Autoimmune disease including systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjogren syndrome

As doctors we are the primary gatekeepers for many patients, and work very closely with area physicians and sub-specialists to ensure complete care for all patients.

CONTACT LENS FITTING AND CORNEAL EVALUATION

We fit regular and specialty contact lenses to change how you see the world. Don't think you are a candidate for contact lenses? Our doctors fit difficult prescriptions and special eyes, so be sure to ask at your next appointment if contact lenses are right for you!

Soft Lenses - These lenses are comfortable to wear and must be replaced monthly, weekly or daily depending on the type that best fits your needs. Soft lenses are often recommended for sports because they fit closer to the eye and are more difficult to dislodge. They can provide correction for most prescriptions including astigmatism. Today, with the introduction of newer materials like silicone hydrogels, which allow more oxygen to the eye, patients find it easier than ever to wear soft lenses comfortably.

Gas-Permeable (GP) Lenses - Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.

Multifocal Lenses - In both soft and GP designs, multifocal lenses offer patients both distance and near vision correction that is similar to a pair of bifocal/multifocal glasses.

Color Contact Lenses - Enhance your eye color or even change it completely. Colored contact lenses are fun and come in a variety of colors for both light and dark eyes.

Silicone Hydrogels - Silicone hydrogels are soft contact lenses that have high oxygen permeability and are comparable to GP lenses.

DRY EYE THERAPY

We strive for perfection in visual clarity and comfort. Dry eye is one of the most common and bothersome conditions we encounter. Dry eye is abnormal; patients should not be forced to accept this condition as a normal part of life. Dry eye syndrome is one of the most common eye conditions encountered by eye care practitioners and can often be the first sign of other medical conditions. We offer the latest in dry eye management technology including:

  • Punctal occlusion
  • Nutritional therapy
  • Medical therapy including anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive therapy, and treatment with autologous serum
  • Specialty dry eye contact lenses including daily disposable contact lenses

MEDICAL EYE EXAMS

We are skilled and equipped for the treatment of many medical eye conditions.

  • DIABETES - We recommend at least an annual dilated eye exam for all of her diabetic patients. Our advanced technology allows for the earliest detection of diabetes complications.
  • GLAUCOMA - We have the latest technology for the early detection and care of glaucoma. We can attempt to prevent devastating vision loss before it happens!
  • MACULAR DEGENERATION - Early detection, nutraceutical therapy, proper follow-up, and prompt surgical intervention are all ways to improve visual outcomes for macular degeneration patients.
  • BLEPHARITIS AND DRY EYE DISEASE - Our doctors incorporate advanced testing to diagnose lid and dry eye disease at its earliest stage to improve treatment outcomes.
